Bill is starting The Portrait of a Lady
This book seems like an cynical combination of Little Women, The Gilded Age, and The Marble Faun.

Bill is starting Surpassing Certainty: What My Twenties Taught Me
For someone who wrote two memoirs, the author is amazingly dense and astonishingly bad at self awareness.

Example: Accusing a roommate of “performing victim hood for attention”.....and then sleeping with a dude because she wants attention. Literally two scenes a few pages apart, from the same night.

Also, and I cannot stress this enough, never glitter bomb a potential employer.

This book is fantastic so far, but a non -Jew would get very little out of it.

"I think we want it bad, " said Washington. "And Santo Domingo. Senator Dillsworthy says, we are bound to extend our religion over the isles of the sea. We've got to round out our territory and---"

I am so glad that I read a biography of President Grant before reading this book (and so glad that I am reading this book after the Grant biography). This reference to Santo Domingo would not have made sense otherwise.

Bill is starting “All the Real Indians Died Off”: And 20 Other Myths About Native Americans
Who is the audience supposed to be for this book? The language is too high level for anyone not in college and/or already familiar with the concepts. But do those people believe in these myths?

Man, that second myth about the Bering Strait is rough. Hopefully the next ones are better....

This one grew on me the more I thought about it. At first it threw me off because it was just so....weird. But after I acclimated to the Weird, I loved the imagery of this short story.
