Look, I love the girl power but it is SO UNREALISTIC and makes no sense that this band of girls would be titled at the Blood Rite. Them surviving is a rare occurrence. Only 12 Illyrian in the past 100 years made it to the base of Ramiel, but these 3 girls did. Against Illyrian who have trained their ENTIRE LIVES vs girls who trained a year. Makes no sense. They weren’t even that good in training.

My perception of Gandhi based on the movie has changed quite a bit from his narrative… he no longer seems quite as ideal…

The amount of “vulgar gestures” that are mentioned within the last 5 pages are terrible. I do not need to know on every page that the MC made a vulgar gesture to her friend. Why is that important???

Jest’s death makes NO SENSE. You’re telling me one of the White Queen’s main soldiers — the one she trusted and sent on a mission, the one equal to the executioner — died to a crazy man swinging an axe around?? You’re telling me the one who can shapeshifter and fight a whole Jabberwock? Who can dodge attacks w graceful cartwheels? Bad execution if you ask me.

I made a judgement too quickly. Wait. Actually, I take that back. My judgement is still true, but there's more to the book to enjoy. This might be one of Hoover's best works.

This is probably one of her better crafted stories, but I still find myself skimming through the writing instead of taking it in
