trying this one again. this time reading with my eyes instead of my ears. so far so good!

dang my practice group for this book fell apart. to carry on without doing the practices or no?

it wasnt without critique either, but i really liked set boundaries, find peace better

i tire of the delineations of the gender/sex of the perpetrator and/or child in these books about experiences of childhood sexual abuse. and then of course so many of the gendered generalizations are downright cringy.

dang im enjoying this so much. maybe there's hope for me falling in love with octavia butler after all 💘

im not reading this chronologically, so hard to tell exactly how much ive read -- probably less than half. im having to read it so slowly to understand anything. it is DENSE. but/and, ive already learned so much. grateful for this read. a truly formative introduction to working with any clients in a trauma informed way. wish id read it sooner!!

i might regret this one

my third read. first was in grade school at some point, and i will be forever grateful to that initial introduction to toni morrison

really didnt like it at first, and now feeling so grateful i stuck with it. a rewarding read so far. so cool that it reads a bit like a novel with each poem a chapter

really beginner. great graphics for young people learning about safety outdoors.

loving the author's writing style + multiple narrators/stories/plotlines

tbh i didnt do much research before i started this one. what exactly am i reading?

giving nk jemison another read. my friends swear by the broken earth series. we shall see.....

i have to take this one slow -- it's scary!!! and i can only handle scary in tiny doses.

it reads like travis speaks -- so sweet and easy. love for Us drips off every page.

started p slow, but im hooked now and love all the character and plot development. rebecca roanhorse's storytelling style is incredible.

wow what a long book with so many indepth storylines. cant exactly see it yet, but i can *feel* them intersecting.

ok great. that narrator was just for the prologue. seems there is a different narrator for the rest of the audiobook.

scared to read this one. really not sure what to expect, and the narrator of this audiobook really isnt helping....

finally getting back into this one after finishing my book club books -- been aching to get back to it bc ive been loving the author's voice and narration. im still totally hooked.

dont think i would have picked this one up or still be reading it if i werent reading for a book club discussion. in my last push to finish before 11/12!

well past the dreaded halfway point. really out of shape reading such a lengthy text ::wheew!::

finally got a practice group together to be able to work through the hands on sections together! excited to be able to keep moving through this one now

a rough read so far. the text starts with a graphic and detailed review of colonists' horrific and violent writings of two-spirits on turtle island.

dang this book is getting hard to finish. an occasional essay is facinating and contains descriptions still useful today. the rest -- pretty outdated.
