Hi all,

I’m moving over to The Story Graph and probably won’t update my Goodreads much. I’m really enjoying the additional features and functionality. It is also a joy to get away from an Amazon based product. The Story Graph app is not always great and it took quite a while for my Goodreads data to transfer (6 days) but I don’t mind given the extra features and the fun I’m having with it.

Not gonna lie. This first 10% has been brutal to get through. The writing is bad. I mean BAD. The story so far is enjoyable enough that I want to know what happens next. The whole attempt at the disability angle for the main character is a bit weak. She kinda just comes across as a bit of a whiney loser, rather than someone with actual impediments. I have laughed out loud so many times at just plainly stupid stuff.

I’m implementing a new rating scale. Apologies if you got any spam when I revisited some of my old ratings.

The new scale is:
5 ⭐️ = life altering
4 ⭐️ = intelligent and well written
3 ⭐️ = enjoyable
2 ⭐️ = not good
1 ⭐️ = terrible

Started this on audible. Boy was that a mistake for a first time read. Going to have to pick up a hard copy and attempt this bad boy properly. Hopefully that’s a good sign.
