Enlightening, sad, tragic, so far.

I'm on Chapter 14, and listening to this book is like listening to a good friend tell you about her day while you're sharing a meal.

Michelle Obama is keepin' it real in her story. She may have been First Lady of the United States, but at the end of the day, she is a woman, a daughter, a sister, a granddaughter, a wife, an employee, and a mom. The same titles and roles that every other woman has.

I don't even know how far I am into this book. Apparently, not far enough.

I like a well-written true crime story, and this was one of those stories where I was somewhat familiar with the area. This was, at first blush, a horrible crime - family shot as they returned home from a celebratory dinner. Younger son and mom perished, older son and father survived.

I'm about halfway thru this book... and while it was off to a great start, it has slowed down a LOT. Haven't decided yet if I will slog thru to the end or just give up.

I will have to re-visit this book another time. I could not get past the descriptions of everything - very drawn out. I had to fight to stay awake to read it.
