I really just can’t. I don’t often give up on a book but I had to. The characters are flat, the editor either doesn’t exist or needs a lot more training, and I simply find the story itself unbelievable and uninteresting. This is coming from a huge historic fiction nerd

FMC just hates flip phones, and cars, and planes, and driving, and that her favorite novel is pride and prejudice.
Also I’m sorry but you’re going to start running your business five days after seeing the property for the first time?!?! $1.2 million leftover dollars is not actually enough to make all of this happen on this kind of timeline!!

The formatting for thoughts and the several spelling errors are bothering me. Also I don’t understand the motivation grandma had for investing her money and no one else’s. It’s like “here granddaughter, I’m either showing the most ghastly display of blatant favoritism or severely screwing you over by investing money you might have to pay back”

Things are starting to pick up. While I love the expansion and appreciate the continued world building, I don’t think I’ve ever seen so much exposition in a sequel
