Bite size horror that reads like campfire stories. Except just like a kid at a campfire, the writing is amateur and clunky. Second story especially when the author explicitly calls the fmc a control freak and Ethan a further two times emphasises she’s controlling. Show, don’t tell. Especially with horror.

This might be the first time reading a horror I’m actually spooked. This is so unsettling and horrifying. I can’t even say why without spoilers but there’s so many different levels to it.

After a spate of pretty vanilla horrors this is great

I don’t know if I’m just not vibing with this or I’m not paying enough attention

This may be a DNF just because it’s making my heart hurt so much

It’s building tension really well. It’s very similar to Our Wives Under The Sea, but I care more for the protagonists and their relationship because you see more of the before state I think
