Ugh a plot element has just been introduced that totally tanked my interest in this book :(((

Little things about the worldbuilding choices here are bugging me, like it's not quite as imaginative as I would wish and some restrictions just plain make no sense, but I'm still looking forward to listening to the audio when I get in the car every day.

Currently rooting for Sisterkin because holy shit. also confused as to how this is adult and not YA, because it starts off hitting some very familiar teen beats: ruling class teenager is rebellious and immature, craves affection/approval from toxic parent, chafes against class & family responsibilities, is in love with lower-class friend who shows them the error of their privileged ways...

Ooof, things just got super real. And profoundly upsetting in a way I'm surprised I didn't expect??

My first thought on starting this was "what the @@#$ is up with this font size?!??!" It's like the publisher was afraid of putting out a 500 page book so they made the font tiny to get the contents into 350 pages. BUH!

Not a fan of the narration so far, and the main character is clearly intensely prejudiced, but you're clearly supposed to think so. Curious enough to keep listening!

Didn't draw me in to start with, but once the plot setup on the book jacket was out of the way and the story really got going things really improved. Now I'm hooked!

fffffffffff, this book is really SOMETHING. I AM SO ENGROSSED

So far, this is... kind of frustrating. I had assumed this book would pick up where the last had left off, not that it would be backing the timeline all the way up to tell things from Bells's POV. I keep feeling really impatient and finding myself rushing forward trying to get to the REAL story.

Ooof. The trouble with romance on audio is that it's much harder to skip the sex scenes. Which are... not my cup of tea so far.

I'm already feeling like this book needs about 200% more (and better written) gayness.

Picked this up tonight on a whim, and I am loving it so far.

Based on reviews I thought this might be super sticky, but it's actually really enjoyable, immersive, and well written.

The narrator is NOT very good and the book is totally ridiculous. But it's hitting some of my favorite space tropes and also totally turning the Sexy Lady Aliens thing on its head so.. surprisingly, I'm enjoying it!

Wow, that certainly got off to an unexpectedly harrowing start. Excited to see where the author takes it next.
