Really loving this! The pacing is great and you can really feel the bonds between characters. I fear something terrible might be coming for Jesse soon though 😱

There’s a missing speech mark on this page, and I can’t help thinking that if this were a self published book, some people would rip into it for that one error.

She keeps using claw as a name for dragons front feet and it’s irritating me more than it should.

Story is ok so far, some bits have had me smiling, one bit made me double take it was so shocking (in a good way). But the quality of the prose doesn’t seem as good as Fourth Wing. Lots more bits I’ve had to reread to work out what they meant.

Cassian’s thoughts here are so disrespectful of Nesta I’m tempted to DNF and throw a USB file with this book on it into the sun. At this point I’m mostly continuing in an education in how not to write men who are meant to be the good guy. His mother was abused and he’s written as having thoughts like that? Gross.
