My first urban fantasy and I’m excited 🖤

It’s a good time but that’s all I can say about it so far

Not terrible, but there are a lot of things that have happened off the page that Pearson seems to be writing into the exposition to catch the reader up. There’s a lot of telling instead of showing.

These are the thoughts swirling in my head about the lore of Cambria. I can’t wait to read how Rebecca Ross builds up her world. 📝

what a beautifully written dark academia read so far! The writing is truly evocative—perfect for the autumn/winter months ahead.

no wonder this book became so mainstream…I can’t put it down!

The conflict in this book is so well written!!

I’m also surprised at how dark the description of the action/enemy sequences are written. Dark fantasy vibes?!

Anddd I’m happy the romance isn’t the primary plot, but more of a subplot that adds to the characters and story. 🍄🌿⚔️🪾

Their banter is just so good.🤌 He’s very much type A in magical abilities and she is very type B.

p.s. This book is also great at showcasing a more romantic focused story, but the romance strengthens the plot and moves it along in a way that makes sense.
