"Mom was always a little amazed at parents who thought their kids should be reading more but who never read themselves." - I love this!

So far I am fairly disappointed in this book. I am finishing it to see if it gets any better but, at this point, not planning on reading the others in the series.

the first 50 pages or so read like you would expect a Law & Order episode to read but then it settled into a pattern more like you would expect of a full-length crime or spy novel
