Wow, Part 1 was absolutely gut wrenching. I cried.

Finished the Foreword by Langdon Winner (author of The Whale and the Reactor) and the Introduction to the 1963 Edition by Lewis Mumford.

Fujimoto is touching on some dark subjects so far, all of which are really building up the protagonist Agni’s tragic backstory. Seems like Fujimoto enjoys putting his main characters through hell (see: Chainsaw Man)
