Today I read 20% of this book out loud to my mom in a room full of cancer patients, only holding back at the extra spicy scenes. I’m seeing audiobook narrator in one of my future odyssey paths. Perhaps… for my own memoir? 🤔

I picked this up to read during my honeymoon — matching the theme — but it is so far not a good read. I’m explaining the very predictable yet totally unrealistic plot to Simon step by step, and he is precisely predicting the next part. I also think I need to stop reading “fake dating” stories because I find them very strange and very fictional.

Not one, not two, but THREE people instantly recommended this historical thriller about the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair when I mentioned I’m moving to Chicago. Not sure if I should be scared of serial killers or thrilled about the architecture???

Yes, yes, it’s all good and interesting. Except for the Lucky and Lepidus watch-party snooze fest. I don’t care for the comedic relief, the outsiders’ perspective on the games, the boredom and uneasiness in the air. Put me in the arena Suzanne! I want to know what’s happening!

Listening on audiobook and I’m so sucked in already… the shock and awe reminds me a lot of how I felt reading “Educated”, but Jennette has also applied some humor to her story.

I’m a Bob Goff fan since 7th grade, so of course I have to keep reading (listening this time) to absorb his positivity, admire his zeal for life, and laugh at some of his more questionable advice like “Quit something every Thursday.”

After I loved Bridget Jones’s diary, I’m listening to this modern parallel narrative on audio and loving all the similarities and differences so far.
