Open call for best translation of the Epic of Gilgamesh— I read it as a child, and I am feeling the urge to reread. If anyone has a specific translation to recommend, I’m all ears :)

first chapter is, i think, intuitive for anyone who has done abortion counseling for any length of time. the second chapter offers some really incredible insights. i found myself remembering conversations with patients where i was so upset with myself for not knowing what to say, what she needed to hear, or how to say it. i’ll be putting a lot of this into practice.

I wish someone had told me about this book during my first six months at my job. So much of this is intuitive, especially if you pay attention to patients while talking with them, but this is so insightful

I have a 1yo kitten with severe IBD and a 3yo cat with musculoskeletal issues that cause her to walk like a geriatric. Reading this book to see if this vet’s prices are worth it because at this point I’d rather spend $250 on a vet visit that’s useful rather than $120 multiple times a year just to be told that my cats require Hills Science Diet “prescriptions”. I’m aware that I sound like a crazy cat lady.
