Okay, I'm only 20 pages in, but I'm going to have to DNF this one if it doesn't cool it with the adjectives and adverbs. Not every thing/action has to be described to death.
And really, we get it. This is a big woman. 6'1", Amazonian, needs a big chair, heavy-boned, curvaceous, size 18, surprising, fascinating-but-terrifying, well-padded, huge, large-but-shapely ... you've used them all. In just 20 pages. Yeesh.

I don't know how much I really even like these stories ... I can't decide. But I keep going with them anyway. Even though it's 8 books in one and therefore very long ...

5 down now though, 3 to go, so I'll finish it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Not bad thus far, but the first story felt longer than most of this type. That isn't a bad thing, but I may need to take a break after each one to read something else for a while.

This is a hard book for me. Not that I dislike it -- I don't -- but it feels very real and personal. Nostalgia isn't the right word, nor familiarity, but it's ... familial, in a way. I had close family living in eastern Kentucky, not that far from Troublesome Creek, during this time period. This book could be about my own family, people I knew ... my grandparents, even. It's a strange feeling.

Slowed down by allergies. 😴 Otherwise I think I'd be closer to finishing.

Trying again with a different free Google Play ebook. It's 10:50; I'm just starting this one. I'll see how long it really takes to finish it.

Nope, can't do it ... abandoning this one. Unfortunately, I feel like there's a lot of information missing; it jumps into everything too quickly. Also there are quite a few errors.

Just starting at 10 p.m. on 2/18. I'm curious about exactly how long one of these free Google Play fluff mysteries takes me.

Yay, Libby ebook import successfully completed! ... Except my import messed up read dates. Ugh. Now I have to manually fix that for all 400+ books, because I can't stand it incorrectly saying I read all these books this year.
But at least I didn't have to add them all individually!
