I love this book the best read in ages his police procedural knowledge impressive. I can usually read a lot about the author's personality between the lines not with Col. His characters have character the flow tempo dialogue all spot on.

I don''t read a book for a month so I'm 4 behind schedule (if that matters anyway) get a Harrold Robbins moment which passed quickly. On the shelf not finished not even started saved for a rainy day x x x

Great introduction to the plot styled so you guess what the central character is about to do.

This was out of print for years released on kindle a few days ago it's a pearl of a story well researched.

I've just finished the first book in the series 'now you see me', it's one of my favourite reads thus far. So I'm not going to sleep just yet I'll read a few chapters of 'dead scared'.

pleasantly surprised for a novel over 20 years old I will be reading more of Cook.

Awesome read

It's a tad descriptive & technical for my taste listing too many street names in Manchester. Don't get me wrong it's a 5* read for the police procedural knowledge & authenticity. I prefer a more conversational prose of writing I'm a bit bored already so I'm contradicting myself here.
