This book is no longer scifi its genuinely horror

4 chapters left and nothing is solved

☹️

Pacing is interesting ngl but excited to see what happens

Book rec from my little brother 🥹

Genuinely gnawing at the bars of my enclosure wanting to keep reading but I must wait for book club

Stockett does such a good job building up subtle suspense/intrigue

So good

Bomb audiobook so far

When I get my next audible credit I think imma dual read

This is like a warm hug

Yeah I really like this

Woke up at 5am this morning stressed tf out bc this shit genuinely became an r rated action thriller during the 5 min sleep timer I set to go to bed jfc 😭

Finally got off the Libby list for remarkably bright creatures after 3 months so we gotta lock in and get this done

Already got called out in the library for how thick this book is we r so back

This is the kind of thriller that I enjoy reading bc beyond the “who dunnit” mystery it’s also an exploration about race and sexuality in the South plus the intersection of black and queer identity

I hate how quiet Libby books r

The narration is insane

This was fun and whatever but I’m over it

How am I supposed to nonchalantly and performatively answer “what are u listening to?” With “oh, just a biography about gene editing 🥰” when this is done

Homestretch baby

This ended up being the best parallel read for brave new world

I’ve been swiftly and brutally reminded about how little reading gets done during orientation week

Sarah I lied give me another 24 hours and trust I’ll b done

Was laughing at the godlike figure in this book about consumerism being Henry Ford until I realized my family has three ford trucks the call is coming from inside the house the satire commentary is no longer funny 😭😭😭😭😭

Everyone in this book is so intelligent I j can’t fathom it

I never want this book to end how will any book I ever read compare to Monte cristo and east of eden back to back? I fear I am deep in my classics phase and will not be leaving anytime soon

J got asked if I was a slow reader by my brothers friends bc I’ve been “reading this for a while” I think it’s time I go home

I’m so desensitized from the count that sub 300 page book is short and 600 is a normal page count imo

I’m fucking clapping and giggling like a baby in a high chair eating gerber applesauce
