While prefaced with a quote by Fyodor Dostoevsky, stating someone of this behaviour must exist at some point in time, it proves interesting to read a first person narrative with such a racist, sexist and hateful nature and imagine it as real. However Patrick Bateman spends the first 100 pages gloating to the reader about his knowledge of brands and wealth, doing not much more than speak ill of others and dining out.
