Not sure what all the terrible reviews are about. Yeah, if you are looking for a likable narrator, this book isn’t for you. It’s a clear, straightforward, barely fictionalized memoir. I spent about 5 mins online figuring out who “anonymous” is (I suspect it isn’t a secret, there are plenty of hints). I understand there are a few follow up books and unless something dramatically changes, I’ll read those too.

Not particularly compelling reading, I had hoped for more. Very short chapters, more summaries of time periods in her life (so far, I’m not very far in). I have fact checked a few details about her first husband and so far the few stories I’ve read check out. Keep this by the bed to knock out a few chapters when you’re already sleepy. Decent palate cleanser after finishing The Secret History.

Really enjoyed reading. A bit long, could have been tighter, but looked forward to reading more whenever I put it down.

I’m too picky. I work in Corporate America and am already questioning whether or not anyone was still using planners (the spiral notebook type) in 2016. I’ll put this aside for the summer. Looks like a light easy read you could finish in a day (if you can manage to stay invested in these people).
