Do all of TJR's books have to mention someone who is gay? It just feels like pandering.

First impression: this book reminds me of Listen for the Lie. Like, it has the same plot.

The Vacation by John Marrs - DNF.
I really enjoyed The Family Experiment. But The Vacation has too many characters to keep track of and when trying to listen to the audio and read at the same time, I noticed that several chapters are not written with the same words that the narrator is speaking. I simply can't follow this book.

DNF'd this book as soon as I realized one of the POV's is a cat. I also can't say that I like the writing style. Everyone sounds like a child.
