The folklore of Old Sorrel

A German legend of a man with a bird's head. If seen by any of the crew, it is an omen that their ship is doomed.

Excellent story!

The Journal of Reparations

The journal's ledgers and columns reduced a world of suffering to simple arithmetic. The curse of a good education is that once truth is seen, it cannot be unseen.

Great novel so far!

The story is getting better, although quite repetitive. Maybe I'm over the hump now, lol

The plot switches each chapter between 3 people renovating a house on an island in Iceland and a doctor trying to help the local police solve cases of vandalism and suicide.

I'm almost halfway done with the book. It's so boring that I hope I can push past not wanting to stick with it and finish reading it.

My second time with this book. I still find it chilling to read about how the victims were taken. They appeared to be random, but is anything really random? Both Salerno (LASD)
and Grogan (LAPD) were people I knew. In fact, both were at my wedding to my ex, a LASD homicide detective.

I've had this book for quite a while. So far, it has immediately sucked me right into the story, and I'm sorry I waited so long to get to it! If the rest of the story is as good as the introductory part, it looks like I'm in for a great reading experience!😊

Real artists aren't afraid to express themselves

An author's disgruntled ex-fan submitted a novel to him via email. The fanatic's novel describes in detail the fantasized murder of the author and his family. It is one of the most painful killings I've ever read. 😊 Great book so far!

Aaaah! It's such a pleasure to read a good murder mystery. This one has its usual cast of suspects with Finnish names that remind me of shopping at IKEA. So far, I'm stumped, lol. 😊

Who thought saunas could be fatal? A whodunit mystery from my favorite Finnish author.

This story was slow and tedious until 30% in, then it really picked up! At 50%, the action is pretty much nonstop.

Well, I hate to go against the tide here, but so far, I'm not impressed. The first 7% was a great big information dump of people and places. After that, nonstop, inane bickering, and name-calling. Let's hope this story picks up soon!
