I finished the book and I was disappointed that I never got to figure out if Da enjoyed his new home, Lincoln, Nebraska. Its funny that everyone in Yellow Stone thinks that he is going to a big city but Nebraska is actually in the middle of nowhere. He will be far away from his family and he will probably be very homesick. I think of Lincoln as a depresing city and I hope that Da can find happiness there.

After begging twice Da was finally able to get a passport so that he can travel to the U.S. At first the school did not want him to go the U.S. because they thought he was too young to handle the different culture. I agree with the school because I think Da thinks the U.S. is one big party and that it will be very easy to live there. I am not sure Da has made the right decision even though he is happy.

This book has has lots of highs and lows but right now Da is at a high point because he got a great job for the NBA. It is also exciting that his sister got married. Hopefully she is happy with her husband because she is young and she did not get to choose her husband. I think Da will enjoy his new job.

I was shocked that Bo was going to get surgery but he ended up killing himself. It was also weird that he killed himself during an interrogation. Luckily Peng his helping him get through this hard time. She is going to go to a dance with him and I assume they will eventually start dating. Da sister is getting married soon so maybe that will be a trend.

Da went to the temple to pray to Buddha and talk to a monk about his journey to America that may happen. I feel like the Chinese are overhyping America and that his how this book can be related to American Beauty. Da also got to talk about his new college life with Professor Wei. I think Da enjoyed his time at home but he is going back to school now and will probably be very homesick.

Bo made it back home and I think he feels very proud because everyone treats him like a legend. Da has also told his parents that he might travel to America. I think that makes Da's father very happy because he never had that opportunity and he wants his son to have the best. However I think Da's parents might be worried that he is getting distracted by girls. I think Da is happy to be home and see his friends.

Da's social life is changing and he is starting to lose his connection with Bo but he has a new friend Hui who he has a lot in common with. Bo seems to have lost his mojo and he was even beaten up at a party because he was hitting on someone's wife. Bo is also always sick which frustrates him. However Da is finally going home with the help of Hui's illegal business plan to see his family and learn from Buddha.

I think at this point in the book Da completely understands how college works. He is getting good grades and is being more open and social. However Bo has been very moody and depressed. The seasons are changing which might mean that the characters personalities are changing or maturing because that has been a common trend in a lot of the books we read.

This seems to be one of the happiest times in the book. Da has moved dorms and he now has better living conditions and can shower daily. Bo seems to be very non traditional because he is wearing heels and trying to be trendy. Bo is also bringing girls back to his room and into the showers even though he has already been caught. To conclude this book is getting less depressing and a lot more fun to read.

I think that Da is getting used to his new life. He is starting to get to know his roommates but one of them moved into a new room because he wanted a single. However I think the college has a very depressing atmosphere and poor living conditions. I am staring to really get into the plot of this book.

So far I really enjoy this book because it reminds me a little bit about being a boarding student at Cardigan. The main character, Da, is having a rough start because he does not fit in with the city kids but at least he has good roommates. Although Da is enjoying boarding school so far I think he will eventually start to dislike it. Overall this book has an interesting plot.

I really liked the end of this book because at the beginning of the chapter Anita was really depressed and sad but she ended the chapter proud and happy. I think this qualifies as a happy ending even though she lost her dad, her uncle and her home. I think she is now free and her "snow butterflies" represent that. She now knows that her dad died so she could use her wings and be free like Chucha said.

In this chapter I learned that Tio Toni and Papi are dead. It was very sad because Trujillo Junior and the SIM shot Papi and Tio Toni while they were drunk. I was not surprised because it was hinted by Chucha at the beginning of the book that they would die or not be free. However I was Surprised that Mr. Washburn showed up to deliver the bad news.

Anita's diary entries have really helped me understand her and her mom's situation. I have also learned a lot about their personalities and their views on the assassination of El Jefe. It seems that Anita is coming to terms with her situation and is realizing what her dad and other were working towards. Overall it is very interesting watching Anita mature.

I have started reading Anita's diary and it gives a very interesting perspective. She seems to be struggling to get alone time or to be free because she is hiding from the SIM. I think that Papi and Tio Toni will die but I think Anita and her mother will make it to the US. Overall I am enjoying this book.

This chapter was very exciting because Anita's house was raided by the SIM. The SIM raided their house and captured Tio Toni and Papi. However Papi, Tio Toni and others assassinated El Jefe. I think Papi will be killed because in the beginning of the book Anita talked about how Papi stays behind. Also Chucha's dream made it seem like Papi would never be free.

I think this chapter was pretty crazy. I really confused why the cops didn't arrest Mr. Washburn because his car was filled with weapons. He seemed very nervous when they got in a car crash. I think this is a turning point in the book because it seems as though everyone is leaving the Dominican Republic. Overall this book is getting very intense.

I was most surprised about El Jefe showing up to the party. I also learned that Tio Toni is secretly still living in the compound. I was kinda surprised that he was still alive and it was good to know who was living in the cabin. I also noticed a common trend, maturing.

This chapter has been pretty interesting. I have learned that there is an embargo against the Dominican Republic so they can't get certain foods. The thing that surprised me is that Carla sent a letter to Anita. I think that is bad because I think that the SIM controls the compounds mail. I also think Anita might be losing her relationship with Sammy because she has to lie to him a lot and he is making new friends.

I found this chapter exiting because I learned the importance of El Jefe and the SIM has moved in. I wondered why she kept mentioning him but now I know that her Uncle planned something that could take him out of power. I don't think that the SIM are the good kind of police because there leader is El Jefe. The new neighbors seem very nice and Anita already has a good relationship with Sammy. S

So far I have enjoyed this book because it is very fast paced. I also enjoyed that the first chapter was to the point. I am still trying to figure out why Carla and her family are leaving. I assumed that they would leave for a better life but they seem to have a nice life in the Dominican Republic.

I was pretty surprised that Aimee killed herself. It seemed like an overreaction but she could have had other conflicts in her life. I also found it weird that Dennis burned her body at A Happier Hunting Ground.

During this chapter Aimee is finally realizing who she really likes. I am starting to see that Aimee favors Mr. Joyboy over Dennis. Mr. Joyboy seems a lot more put together and fancy than Dennis. Dennis doesn't seem like he could stay committed to a serious relationship.

I found this chapter funny. It was pretty humorous when Mr. Slump tried to justify his tobacco addiction by saying that his cigarettes were made by a doctor. It seems like his life is a mess because of his tobacco and alcohol addiction. Overall I enjoyed this chapter because it introduced a new character.

This chapter was interesting because I am starting to realize that Aimee and Dennis could be a couple. It is kind of weird that Aimee works with dead humans and Dennis works with dead pets. I don't think Aimee knows about Dennis's job so it would be interesting to find out what would happen if she found out.

This book is sort of confusing but I am starting to understand some of the humor. I found funny it when they were talking about Sir. Francis's funeral. It sounded like they cared more about his image at his funeral than his actual death. I think a common theme in this book is a person's public image.

So far this book is pretty entertaining even though it is a little hard to understand. A big thing that I have noticed is that the Brits living in Hollywood are hypocrites. It is is also pretty funny because Mr. Barlow works at at a pet graveyard. So far I like this book.
