I'm a fair way into this book. I have questions. If Rafael is soooo old, what about Elana is causing him to become mortal? So far, I've not found anything particularly spectacular about her. Surely in Raphael's immense existence, he has met strong females before. Surely someone besides this random vampire who ended up in a pile in the square has talked back to him before.
