It’s been a long time since I’ve fallen in love with characters this deeply. I want to tell them, “You can hang the moon at my house! I will be your grownup.”

Just what I was in the mood for - The Pearce children are kindred spirits. Love them already. It sure makes my heart ache to think of how painful the evacuation of children in England must have been on families during World War II.

I’m savoring this one. I keep making myself stop reading because I know the next book isn’t published yet, and I’m not ready to leave Owl Park. Although I am dying to know if the character I suspect is the one who “done” it.

It’s such a treat when you find a book is EXACTLY what you are in the mood for. I knew I enjoyed the first book in this series and wanted to continue, but I didn’t expect this one to hit the spot so perfectly. Enough of a break - Time to get back to my Downton Abbey meets Scooby Doo. There’s more cocoa to drink and secret passageways to explore...giant cursed emeralds to ogle...bad guys to catch...

Ooh...this is going to be fun. A Downton Abbey-esque setting with a mystery plus its Christmas in England. Perfect for escaping the 100 degree weather forecasted this week.

I’m fascinated by this new to me history lesson and the traumatic childhood Zheng He endured. I’m in awe of that kind of strength and resilience.

I love to escape into the childhood innocence of these poems.

Wow...this was an unexpected surprise. I'm really enjoying it. I love it when books feel fresh and unique. I have a feeling the real adventure hasn't even begun yet.

This book is incredible. I’m in awe of her skillful writing. The prose is poetry in disguise.

My tea break was extra sweet this afternoon because of a trip to The House at Pooh Corner.
How often I long to step into these pages where such innocence and compassion live! And oh to be able to forgive as easily as Eeyore does.

The problem with re-reading Harry books, is all I want to do is read. It makes it really difficult to be a productive member of society. At least I can multitask with the audiobooks, but it’s probably rude to ignore people or point to my earbuds when they try to talk to me. 😂 “Um, sorry, but Harry, Ron, and Hermione are trying to escape Gringotts right now. Can’t talk until I know they’re safe.”

I love how gentle it is to be in the 100 Acre Wood. Perfect to read right before bed to detox when you’ve had an un-gentle day. 🍯

Every few years I have to do a re-read of this series, and this latest visit to Hogwarts hasn’t disappointed me. It never does.
