Elektra is such a powerful story. I’ve said it so many times but I’ll say it again and again, I love Sophocles so much. He subverts the genre so well (well what we know of the genre at least) and creates such rich narratives. I’m not going to be reading the last play in this book but I’m reading a version of it by a different playwright so I’ll log it after that

Got this book from the library via a “blind date with a book” thing on Valentine’s Day and finally got around to reading some of it today. Really really good though. Crazy that it is set in the town where paige hartshorn went to private school and her school is mentioned several times

Started reading this last week but forgot to long it :( Agamemnon was really good and carson is a great translator. I loveeee the way Kassandra was written, what an incredible character

So tragic. Such tragedy. It’s the second story of my class about tragedies and the depressing repetition is already getting to me.

I did read the 22 pages before class so all is well

Supposed to have read 22 more pages but I am tired to doing work today! I put all of my work that was technically due today and all that is due tomorrow off all weekend so here we are! I’ll get to page 198 tomorrow before 1:10 I swear. (This is really just an affirmation for myself)

So so close

Godddddddd Antigone is such a perfect Greek tragedy. This translation is so incredibly done as well. Such engaging and moving writing, the translator did such an incredible job.

Haven’t read this in a while but keep forgetting to update it so here we are. I will finish this one day 🤞

Didn’t make much progress today, second part isn’t as good at capturing the reader i think but i still will be reading this as much as I can the rest of the week

God Antigone is such an icon I’m obsessed with her

Will only be reading Antigone and oedipus the king but want to log it anyway 🤷‍♀️

I need to devour this book immediately it’s kinda eating me alive. Mostly bc I remembered that the case was solved after the book was published so there’s more to know after I finish it but I can’t look up how they found him till I get through it. Incredibly captivating tho. I am scared to go to sleep tho

Avoiding reading for class and finishing granny and zooey cause I’m lazy! This is extremely captivating though I need to finish it asap

Very good book to read after getting a little more than tipsy at brunch with the whole extended family

Kept imagining this author was a man because the name is just “pat” and then kept being like HOW is a man writing any of this? But it isn’t a man so that makes more sense.
