every other paragraph feels like getting hit with a brick. spectacular.

Okay. the book was completely unlikable the first chapter because of the things the narrator was saying and the long winded and dense meandering way it is written. it immediately gets more interesting the second chapter because you realise how fucked up the family is. the prose would be entirely unreadable if i wasnt listening to an audiobook though.
