I’m shelving it dnf because I forgot it was a library book and did not prioritize it sufficiently. It was interesting but also felt like a really long introduction and I felt like it was leading to something I never got to know before it was due.

We really like dystopian novels, and fairy tale retellings. This is only loosely based on little red riding hood, really other than her red hood and her grandma’s house being her destination and troubles encountered on the way, it isn’t related at all. We really liked it though! Red is a strong, intelligent, resourceful female lead and I want to note she also has a prosthetic leg, which comes up in it. Great story!
