Kim is starting Blood Sport (DCI Harry Grimm, #7)
Love this series and the characters and it just gets better and better. This one, though...don't know...at the outset, clearly, there's animal abuse and it might be a tough read. Will see, I guess.

Kim is finished with The Whalebone Theatre
I can't finish. It started out promising. I liked the beginning about the imaginative children and the whale very much. But I cannot abide the whining adults in this book. Even setting it aside for a couple of months to give myself space from it all hasn't helped. I cannot be tortured with several hundred more pages, not even for the temptation of more child whimsy and delight somewhere within its depths.

Kim is finished with White Creek: A Fable
Definitely an eerie read and not for those put off by foul language, but yes, I was on the hook and wanting to rush to find out how it ended whilst also NOT wanting it to end....

Kim is starting A Naturalist at Large: The Best Essays of Bernd Heinrich
I confess as I was reading I was thinking how nerdy I was and simultaneously wondering which of my friends I could entice to read the wonderful gem I just savored (be it essay on tree, bee, mammal, you name it) as I went through the book. Each was a delight. Read this collection. Learn and enjoy. I did.

Kim is starting The Making of the Atomic Bomb: 25th Anniversary Edition
DNF. Too many side stories to wade through and really, I can't see slogging through 27+ hours of this. Maybe someday but right now, life seems too short.

Kim is finished with Murder at Teal's Pond: Hazel Drew and the Mystery That Inspired Twin Peaks
I could not finish this. I decided I didn't care and the writing just wasn't enticing.
