I... Actually didn't figure this one out??? And I'm kind of mad at myself about it cause it was kinda obvious in retrospect.

I thought this was a different book that I was curious about that was also about a queer male vampire. Honestly, I'm not mad. So far it has been super cute.

Interesting how all these years, I remember more about the female characters than the men from the original story xD

I realized pretty early on that each character is a horror reference. We got Carrie (Stephen King's Carrie), Freddy (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Heather (The Blair Witch Project), Jason (Friday the 13th), Jennifer (Jennifer's Body?), Mikey (Halloween), and... well, Patrick and Tiffany currently have me stumped but I know they got to be a reference.

Great that I discovered I have good instincts about Hekate. For ex, I already knew her sacred metals were brass, bronze, and iron even though other sources have said either gold or silver.

About 2/3 of this book has been about UFOs and aliens, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I just personally feel like 😩on the topic

Well... This book is *different*, that's for sure. I'm unsure if it's in a good way or not though.

When someone describes a character as "one of the good ones" that is a 🚩to me

I think it's pretty funny that anytime the MC mentions his dead name, my brain is always "Who tf is that??" at first. xD I am often like that with the trans friends that I know irl as well. My brain is bad at remembering names now - an advantage to anyone who is trans and changes their name. Can't accidentally dead name someone if I don't even remember it! LOL

I am super happy to hear one of my favorite queer audiobook readers is covering this book. Also, right from the start I can tell this author has grown so much. I'm already hooked.

Well, that took a dark turn... Guess I shouldn't be surprised with an older British novel for adults though.

Okay, there's a section on additional *magic* info? This author HAS to be a witch.

Don't recall that plot twist being in either of the movies I saw based on the book!
