Based on the carriage company of C.R. Patterson in Ohio. This story gives black Bridgerton vibes in Chicago (which I loved). It’s emphasis is on women finding their voices in love, career and life during a time of oppression and segregation though some characters lived with great privilege they still had struggles of their own. It was a bit slow at parts but for the most part enjoyable.
