After the first hundred pages, I like it a lot more. There’s a lot more telling than showing in the beginning, and beyond, though it’s less often and less egregious after the hundred page mark. I’m very invested in Chaol’s arc and Yrene’s arc, but I don’t actually care about Nesryn’s arc or the overarching plot of this book. We’ll see though.

So far there is an insane amount of info dumping-more so than her previous books. It’s getting tedious, but I’m determined to keep going. I genuinely went into this thinking it would be my favorite in the series, it being Chaol’s book, but now I’m not so sure.

Started this because I can’t go to the library for a couple of days so naturally, I had to pick up a little book to tide me over. This is my ToG interlude haha

I know this is usually a favorite in the series, but so far I’m having a harder time getting into it. Mostly because books that are dedicated to training usually bore me😅 but I do get why it’s beloved among fans of the series. Chaol is still my favorite character lol
