Ok, I am not far into this book, it is beautiful and terrible. I absolutely love the prose. I can tell that the author really understands the great, immortal poet. She reveals Dante’s truths AND captures his power as an author and dramatist even as she weaves her story with his journey through Hell. What seems anachronistic is real and powerful.
