Charlotte, I love Jane Eyre, but I have crazy beef with you for suppressing this book into oblivion.

Some might say it’s that her prose is less developed than her sisters’ or something, but I love how modern and relatable the dialogue and interior monologues are in Anne’s work. The characters in Wuthering Heights are completely alien to me. These characters feel palpable. I can imagine being a part of one of their parties.

Stop Piranesi is the sweetest character ever. I don’t want anything bad to happen to him 😭

This is… not good so far

I dnfed this in February of 2021. I was a freshman in college, and there were days I didn’t speak a word out loud to a single person.

I remember reading this on a really snowy and horrible day in one of the dingy rooms hidden between the stacks on the top floor of our library. I was so lonely, cold and miserable, I think this book was genuine psychological torture at the time.
Maybe I’ll appreciate it now 🤩
