So far, this is my least favorite of the Shadowlands series. It’s focused on the making of a hero and their quest, but I am annoyed that our mythology professor has seemingly forgot all of her studies as she experiences mythmaking herself and it feels very it of character simply to be in service of spelling out plot points for the reader. This book would benefit from multiple character POVs from the quest crew.
