So surprisingly enjoyable!

Geez. This started alright but then....boom! Bam! I got sucked into it. And now there's no stopping the page turning!

So far this is really engaging and I'm enjoying it

This is wonderful. The first chapter, with the children, already made me cry and the dog stories are so relatable

So far im not really impressed yet. What i feel is going to make this book cool is the world building, but so far I feel like there's just a lot of teenage angst, swearing and people making questionable choices without the emotional impact those choices ought to evoke. I'm hoping things will pick up still since I've heart such cool things about this series

This is fun. Clearly purposefully written for YA and you can tell that certain things are laid on a bit thick; less subtlety than I'm used to even from Sanderson. But somehow I find myself unable to put it down anyway.

This is a reread for me, but i'm still enjoying it as much as the first time round, maybe even more

This is really very good

As a horse trainer, I'm not fond of the old school stuff going on like poking the horse in the ribs when cinching up, or the way they speak about their horses behaviour. However, as a reader, I'm really enjoying the story in and of itself.

I really liked the premise but ended up putting this book down. About four chapters in I still didn't really feel a connection with the MC and felt everything was laid out a bit too obviously; the MC's back stories and pain were laid out right then and there from the start, and I really prefer to find out bits and pieces throughout the story Vs being told. I couldn't really get into this.

I was curious but didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I currently am 😁

So far this is sweet. It could definitely do with a clearer, stronger plot I think, but I'm enjoying how cosy it is and the third rail is done well. I've appreciated this author before for her depth in her character themes, and that's what I'm seeing here too.

Been wanting to read something by this author for ages. I'm a little bit disappointed in the writing style, but do really appreciate what she did with Rhys' character which is de main reason I continue reading

So far, this is so very good. Regency vibes, a relatively hard magic system that i can actually follow, secrets...so very many secrets, and slow burn romance between two misunderstood but realistic people

Inspiring, insightful and heartbreaking

Lol, you know you're in for something good when the chapter title is 'Mopedey, mope, mope' 😆

Some of it is a little on the nose, but they're minor flaws. I'm quite enjoying this. It's wholesome and for a debut so far it's quite impressive

I feel almost bad for saying this because i love this series, but so far I'm still waiting for it to pick up speed
