Okay I’m cracking up. This why choose romance is EXTREMELY historically accurate. I was not expecting so many details about the time period that the author has snuck in there. For example, the main character wasn’t allowed to paint with oils, only watercolors. I EAT THIS SHIT UP.

Ughhhhhh I wanted to love this. I love this author. But this book has no plot. It was beautiful words. Lovely phrases. But literally nothing has happened. What was up with the dad in the beginning, will literally anything happen??

70 percent and STILL NO GROVEL

He seriously better have the best grovel ever. This book is more drama than romance.

THERE’S A PART TWO??? I’m really liking it so far, even though there’s so much miscommunication. Slow burn to the max though.

Loving this much more than I thought! Very atmospheric and Julia is captivating! I love how independent she is as a heroine.

I mean, I wish she had glasses on the cover…
