Do I need to watch mad men next

Combining my non-existent trip to Istanbul with a stopover in Sicily, I guess!

2/3 of this book feels like a horror story

but do I want to go back to Istanbul one day!!!

supporting modern russian lit one novel at a time

ladies never fail your exams because of a man!

You know that frontal lobe has finally formed when the whole thing truly feels like "a 30yo man cheating on his soon-to-be-wife with a teenager he happens to be related to"

Immediately yes.

Immediately need to revisit Istanbul.

ok he's not fixing anyone including himself

he can fix her (he is the one who actually ruined her life)

I love Tolstoy because you read about his marriage, and it's like "wow, he doesn't know anything about women", and then you read anything written by Tolstoy, and it's like "wow, nobody understands women better than he does"

patiently waiting for adam driver's autobiography

my opinion about this book changes with each chapter

I love when he talks about food, his daughter, and his hate for people he dislikes

I also love the level of self-awareness, and the second it disappears, he starts pissing me off

overall, I think I am once again enjoying his writing

i love when he talks about food!

but that's pretty much it

"oh my God, all these entitled, misogynistic, insufferable rich people of st barts!!!" says mr Bourdain as he spends his week at st barts, doing drugs, spending thousands of dollars on hotels/shitty restaurants, and referring to each eastern european woman he encounters as a hooker/prostitute/whore

it's fine, he is doing it in a "be a traveller, not a tourist" kinda way

The more I read, the more I realise that the casting choices for the Netflix adaptation are lowkey horrible.

let's go

almost done i promise

Forsyte Saga set in New York (kind of)

poor woman

weird free download kindle version that really annoys me but hey that's all i could find

one drive to prince charles away from completing the audiobook i promise

"You may cry out as much as you like against the rich, you haven’t got courage enough to give back to the poor the money that luck brings you. You will never be worthy of happiness as long as you have anything of your own, and your hatred of the bourgeois only comes of your mad desire to be bourgeois in their place."

This book is worth reading just to be introduced to Souvarine

communism sounds great i wonder if anyone tried that before

Antagonism breeds extremism
