reading this alongside east of eden cuz im tryna feel Something and it’s working too well oops

gave into the hype

i got addicted to a video game so i stopped doing literally anything else in my free time 😭😭 this has become my train read it’s lowkey slop but i’m committed to it

this chunk of dialogue pissed me off so bad

“I say, ‘I’m not going to eat anymore. What I mean is that I will no longer eat.’
Marguerite says, ‘I’m going to leave.’
‘Where will you go?’ I say.
‘Home,’ she says.
‘Where is home?’
‘Home is like the moon,’ she says.
‘Filled with grief?’
‘Never where you expect it.’
I say, ‘Will you cut off my hair for me?’”

trudging through … forgot that sometimes it’s difficult to read books written by men

HAHA can u tell im going thru a phase

ah yes the classic enemies to lovers he can’t stand her and can’t stand that he’s attracted to her romantasy trash my 13 year old self used to eat up. not a bad thing though i’m super engaged 🤭

rereading more seriously for a class :P

after reading more of this collection i realize that i’ve either read it in its entirety before or didn’t finish it (based on my annotations). unfortunately i don’t remember which one i did because the poems are kinda forgettable. i will say one of the words he used in a poem is the title of one of my pinterest boards though lol

finally reading it (for a class lol)

SO GOOD so far

i finally gave in
