Was the second half of the book written by someone else? It got much better. I love how he turns out to be a spy not the head of a mob. Plot twist. She gets kidnapped for trial and hired to be one as well but so far is being clever about telling Declan what’s going on without doing the whole dramatic breakup they asked of her to leave their top agent.

Ohhh the romance is good! The first 50% of the book is written by Nadeen lol. A witty girl who doesn’t shut up with her captive and then bam the dynamic changes and he suddenly wants a captor/captive role play but hey he’s mostly cute about it.

Did her ex just smell her shoes? WTF I swear this book must have been her first attempt at writing

This is too fast paced…now she’s in a hospital for some constricted blood vessels in the brain and he reads to her. How did this book get such a high rating ?

A kidnapped girl massaging her kidnapper…what am I reading?

Usually I like when the book starts right into it like this one with the kidnapping and the main characters meeting but I feel like I needed a bit more context. The girl is just being extra cute about the whole thing and I’m not loving it because I don’t understand her or anything going on

Read with my students. Touching story that handles a serious political topic in simplified way. 4/5

Bro how does she seriously not see that he loves her! I’m sure that’s all just to stretch the plot but no one is that blind. I love how Arturo shows his gentle side more than she does. He loses it when they refuse to take more blood from him to save her during surgery and he threatens to kill them all. Romance isn’t dead in books at least

Bitch melt already! He’s being so caring with her. She FRkN bought a helicopter and had it parked in the yard and he didn’t say anything. He holds her and cooks for her and she resists but nooooo she doesn’t want to waste any feelings on a fake marriage. Real marriages adrab 3afekra!

I like how forward Arturo is being with his touches and jealousy. A man who acts on his feelings is better than a quietly yearning man for me.

Damn I had more hope for the previous book with Massimo reunited with Zahara after prison than this one and yet this looks like a better plot so far. The enemy to lovers things comes with a nice fire I like. Tara doesn’t act like a wild cat most of the time but Arturo balances her out with his level headedness so I enjoy that contrast. Let’s see if this book will be a success…

Ok I LOVE how much he loves her but I don’t believe such a selfish guy can love someone other than himself. He was planning to put Nera through more shit apparently if it wasn’t for her sister. To be fair, he did like his stepbrother enough to go to prison for 20 years… ofc making a tradition out of fuc*ing his wife in front of the council is just weird but wtv. 3.8/5

In terms of action/conflict it was clear Salvo (his best friend) was behind it from the get go with how unsettled he made Zahara feel but ofc she kept it to herself because Massimo is too unpredictable as if that’s the only solution 🧐

The exhibitionist scene in front of top members of the council makes zero sense for characters like Massimo. I saw a review making the exact point. These scenes rip you out of your trust in the MC actions and your familiarity with them. The author is making them act in ways that don’t match their core “values/personalities”

These 2 go from 0 to 100 very fast wth. Massimo says he can’t have this relationship appear to the public or it’ll ruin her and that this was never meant to be and then BAM he touches her in front of everyone and asks for her hand in marriage. Yes, weeks passed between those two events but damn

I’m loving the anxious attachement thing going on from Massimo’s side. It’s nice to see guys going through that lol!

Bro come on! He’s surprised she’s a virgin like bish haven’t you been reading her letters for years? Idk she made her spying be her only purpose and is insecure about her looks and is super quiet.

On another note, interesting how each book has a different energy. Nera’s story was heavier and darker. This one is feels much lighter.

LMAO the moment he sees her at 18 years old and finds her pretty he actually gives her value and protection. Her life matters now. It sucks because she helped him for years and he saw her as a kid with pig tails he’d marry off as soon as it would benefit him.

I quickly skimmed the low ratings before starting this book that I’m really looking forward to and it was stuff like he “groomed” her. I disagree. He’s literally asking her to spy for him and she’s fully ok with it. How the hell is that grooming? He’s straight out using her and seeing as he won’t be out of prison anytime soon, I’m worried I’ll get bored with the slow burn this is gonna be

It’s insane to be so attached to a story and yet feeling the urge to get to another in the same series. THAT’s how good they are. It gets better and better. I can only think abt Massimo and Zahara and how the hell they are together if she only saw him at 4 years old and never again until he got out of prison over 15 years later.

I didn’t expect for the story to go on for this long after they reunited lol it’s mostly him protecting her until her brother takes over from prison and sleeping with her. Got a bit old but getting 3 priests to marry them was funny. He’s unhinged but that’s the fun part hhh. I just don’t like the sudden exhibitionist tendencies he now has when he is so protective usually. Doesn’t make sense

J’ai being tortured for 4 years is something I didn’t wanna see. This guy went through enough haraaaam he’s barely normal. Their reunion is going to be fire for sure

Ohhh shit I expected him to show up after disappearing 4 years because he’s been asked to kill her as a hit man but him killing her father explains it… to be fair, it doesn’t make sense that he stalked her for a year and never knew what her father looked like idk

We love a possessive MC. He calls her MY cub from the very beginning then my girl in his thoughts. It’s so cute now he won’t let go of her hand in a crowd and openly says its my hand. It shows how unacquainted he is with social norms because of his background. I got you baby!

I thought no book could be better than the previous one in the series since its rating was higher than the rest but gosh this is good. Each story is different. I’m loving the tortured protective hero thing Kai has going on🥹

NO WAYYY Nera was barely mentioned in the previous book and they said she was married to an old man managing the business on his behalf while being very young so I didn’t see how her story would be next… They also mention there being a hit on her at end.The MC was the dude barely mentioned in a sentence who is watching by over her in the previous book when she meets up with Drago!!! This story is starting strong!

He paints her toenails, buys her actual emeralds he was supposed to sell to an Arabian Prince for her aquarium and never once tells her to change her horrendous clothes. I know it’s fiction but this is why we are delusional.

The emotional maturity this guy has is insane. He is very clear about where he stands, chases her, consoles her. He understands when she pushes he has to pull harder. I love their dynamic.
