"Our Fear of Death"

"The caliph Suleiman Ibn Abd al-Malik asked a scholar in his court, "Why do we hate death?" The scholar replied, "Because you've built this world and you've destroyed the Hereafter, so you hate to move from a place of comfort to a barren and desolate place."
