I am continuing in English. It is not the most interesting story, but I want to finish it. Although it is easy to read, I can´t connect with any of the characters. And on top of that, I think that the design of Klara as a "companion for kids" is a bit irresponsible

AI needs training. And the good content in internet is already used, so soon AI will train on AI, making the quality decrease quickly. But these companies figured they could exploit people to check the content or even generate it. In my circles they are offering 40EUR/h to generate "high quality" training data. But in a data annotator center they are paying miserable wages to check, tag and classify the data...

Difficult read... But I want to cite:
'We understand, then, why every definition of the ecological crisis as a "return of the human to nature" immediately unleashes a sort of panic, since we never know if we are being asked to return to the state of brute beasts or to resume the deep movement of human existence'
Why do we have to return to an specific "natural" state, instead of improving the changing cycles?

Social media moderators that have to watch videos under horrible work conditions and flag them for removal so we can have "safe" social media...
This just feels like the kids working illegally on clothes manufacturing for fast fashion companies. Yet most of society does not care about what they 'cant see'...

Some takeaways:

• A large group of meat reducers may be a better way to change the system as they drive demand and supply.
• We don't need to use moral arguments all the time. Non-moral motivations can develop into moral ones, and compassion can grow after people have taken the first steps, for whatever reasons.
• We have to create a facilitating environment by working on institutional change.

I started again and I am super excited. I like the pragmatic view on this. We should stop selling unattainable ideals but to involve more allies and nudge the societal change with achievable steps for more people!

So far I've learned that anything you decide will have it's critics. But that indecision, or a passive choice, also carries its consequences.

<<"Good!" said Slytherin. "I'm glad you see now that the most moral thing to do is to sacrifice the lives of sentient beings for your own convenience, to feed your dreadful appetites, for the sick pleasure of ripping them apart with your teeth—"

His inner Slytherin’s mental voice was grim. "You too will some day embrace the doctrine... that the end justifies the meats." This was followed by some mental snickering.>>

If you are very curious about fungi at the moment I recommend this book. It includes a lot of facts about fungi narrated in a light to read way. Fungi are so cool! And they are everywhere. I cannot see them the same way after this book. Plus, I have a couple more extra fun facts for when I am out of conversation topics :P
