I don't want to be too harsh on this because he wrote it when he was 17. It has all the right things for me to like it but it was underwhelming and there was nothing really new or exciting about it. Basically bits of The Monk, Zofloya and a little of Udolpho all mixed together. Also it kinda felt like starting a book in the middle. I liked the ending finally giving some explanation though.
