i get phoebe bridgers when she said that she was "blue all the time." i also understand why jay gatsby and holden caulfield relentlessly pine for a past they will never be able to live through again (even if their models of thinking are misguided). especially when the present hurts and seems to repeatedly taunt and mock you over and over again. it's all very painful. and lonesome.
