Maybe this book would better if I knew the characters from previous books in the series. It is hard to follow the variety of story lines and characters in this story. Seems like within a mystery, the author has to talk about police brutality and racism at the same time as she highlights the importance of wearing masks during Covid. Not easy for me to stop reading a book once I invest time into, by stopping here

Almost 600 pages in to another epic book. Quite a journey

Good book and very long book. Hard to believe I’m at page 600 and still 385 pages to go. Follet has created a story that could be 5 books about 5 separate yet connected lives. It amazes me that an author can create a story like this that is historical in nature. And to think this is the first book in a trilogy. I probably won’t reach my yearly book goal due to this book being counted as one book not 3 or 4

If I had not read this far I would stop. But I’m in over half way so I need to finish. Not much about the book makes me want to read it

Although reviews are positive this is a Tough book to get into.
