before i finish i wanted to pen my thoughts somewhere. i was going to say that i've never been more unsure of what i want to rate a novel so close to its end, but that's not true all all. i will be giving it five stars because i can't deny how compelling this book was for me. but the rating feels so reductive (and almost irrelevant?) to condensing and expressing my readerly experience. this is a cry for help :-(
