finished reading the first half of this book. The Shadow of the Rat is indeed an intriguing case. never did I feel this kind of attachment to the very last pages of a story. & i can still feel the hair on the back of my neck all standing (at times)! a not so much spoiler: the giant rat of sumatra & bubonic plague!

fuh, almost, almost there! btw, tulisan 'dialog si pengemis' ni ala ala 'kafka on the shore' plak. part si pacik tua yg boleh bercakap dgn kucing.

sebab itu, "theres no such thing as black or white in life. it's a colorful world out there." satu warna tidak akan jadi satu pemandangan yg menarik.

progress bacaan sedikit lambat. mungkin sebab aku pertama kali membaca tulisan beliau. bahasa beliau setakat ini juga punya sedikit bau-bauan slang Sabahan (sebab penulisnya Sabahan) namun ditutup dgn ejaan ke-KL-an. apapun serba-sedikit tidak menganggu bacaan (sekurangnya bagi diriku). almost there, though i can somewhat smell its conclusion but i never want to jump though.
