this book is TERRIBLE!!! I spent $11 on it!!! 😭

First half was great! Then there was a time jump... 😩 and I am struggling to push through.

If I read the words "iced bun" one more time, I'm chucking this book into a goddamn fire.

Stop beginning sentences with yes and no! These are all on the same page! aahhh

No shit, lady. Is this whole book going to be the author explaining context clues to her audience?

"It was almost disappointing because it seemed when stress and madness were eliminated from my daily life there wasn't much left you could depend on." Ha. Yeah I know that feeling all too well.

meat losing its sheen as it cooks, wine sediment settling between teeth... how many times can these things happen in one book

"When priests come searching for this place, is this where they stop?" Umm hello? Did you forget that you already told us where they stop LESS THAN A PAGE AGO?

"For the first time, I'm grateful to have [Teren] with us." Really? Not when he saved your boyfriend's life? Not when he saved your life? Not when you made him your personal guard after an assassination attempt? K.

almost 2 weeks and I haven't even cracked a hundred pages... so not feeling this book

It's weird to me what he chooses to address in this book. Like he skips over what could add cool layers to the story, and focuses more on making sure we know Exactly What's Going On Strategically. Feels like I'm being talked down to.

"'Now that would tickle my father pink. Oh, stop squealing. The pun wasn't that bad.'" oh my god we as an audience don't need to be taught what a pun is

Thank you, TV tropes, for the term Author Avatar. Because what I just read was the weirdest, most blatant self-masturbatory shit I think I've ever seen.

So, I had to look up what bothers me about this book to help me put a name to it. Actually, it's not just the fact that the words "so," "actually," and "just" are overused.

I really should've been tracking all the inconsistencies here from the beginning. They piss me off, but damn if they aren't so bad they're funny.
