The boys have already tried two attempts to see a live naked girl, and both attempts ended in complete failure. Also Matt managed to get out of swimming the fly at his first meet, but his final meet is coming up and he can barely do 50m of the fly. Uh oh. With summer vacation closing in soon, I wonder if Matt and his friends will complete their goal, as well as if Matt will be able to swim the fly and get Kelly too.

Matt, Sean and Cooper have a tradition where every summer they set a goal for themselves that they have to achieve, and this year their goal is to see a live naked girl. And for Matt, he would do anything to impress the new hot girl on his swim team; Kelly Weest. Anything as in swimming the hardest stroke, the 100m butterfly. So far I really like this book because there are funny scenes one after another.

Brick's huge secret of being abused is revealed by Tully, a neighbor he works for. Also Brick has been training hard in karate and self defense, preparing to confront his father once and for all. It is really captivating to see Brick have his biggest fight: with himself. As well, I am surprised at how much he has tried to change himself, and how much he is doing to not become everything he hated most...his father.

Brick already had multiple big fights with his father, one leaving him with a black eye and a cut lip. A local karate master is teaching Brick some basic karate moves to help defend himself. At the same time he is training, Brick is getting jobs around his neighborhood to save up for when he turns 16. On top of all of this he still cares for Cassie. As I read more, I see the caring side and the bully side of Brick.

Brick Macvoy plans to save up enough money to run away from home the instant he turns 16. He has a abusive father and a neglecting mother, leaving Brick to take care of his 4-year-old sister Cassie. So far, the author really shows me in detail the hidden feelings in Brick, and I can feel the suspense in the story already.

After results that says Zan is not learning enough; Project Zan loses it's funding. With no choice left, Ben has to see Zan leave, and to go be held at the ranch . Ben who is so attached to Zan, visits him as much as possible. He finds out that Zan is getting abused, and not being able to stand it, Ben plans to break him out. I feel that the relation between Ben an Zan has changed so much from the beginning to now.

Project Zan is coming along well, as Zan's vocabulary has grown impressively. Zan's communication with Ben makes him really start to love him like a brother. Also Ben has fitted in well in the new community making friends, including a girl named Jennifer who he is attracted to, Peter; a university student hired to help Zan. The amount of words Zan knows suprises me and I want to see how Project Zan comes along.

Ben Tomlin isn't all that happy with his parents after they move to Victoria B.C and introduce his new baby brother Zan; a chimpanzee to him. His parents, both whom are scientist want to see if Zan is capable of learning American Sign Language to communicate with humans. This book is pretty interesting to me so far. I wonder if Ben's feelings towards Zan will change further on in the book.

As I am getting closed to the end of the book, where the action is at the peak after building up for a while. Rasheed's hate for Laila and Mariam grow's so large it comes to the point when he wants to kill them. It has gotten so intense in the book, I can't seem to put it down.

This book really shows the reality of gender inequality, with the story based on two Afghan women who have never met but do meet after one of the women gets badly injured as a stray missile from the war hits her home. Laila and Mariam, together must overcome their abusive husband Rasheed, the war and much much more. I defiantly want to see what will happen later on in the book.

A couple chapters into this book and I already love how the author writes. The style Hosseini writes this story really interests me. I am definitely going to continue reading this book.

The two main characters do end up meeting as I guessed. Nate Cooper finds himself with the helpless Julie Flynn as the two gets lost in the dark and dangerous streets of Chicago just as the fire begins to grow and spread across the city. The book is starting to really build up to the climax and I wonder if the two of them could work together and find their way out of all the chaos and " The Great Chicago Fire.

This book is set in 1871 based on the Great Chicago Fire. I have been introduced to two totally different characters, and I think that it is written in a way that foreshadows the fact that these two characters will meet. I wonder if that will actually happen later on in the book.

As a draw near to the end of this book I have discovered a lot more facts about sharks I didn't know before. I like how I learned these facts through simple diagrams, instructions, etc. that are all part of the Seb's journey at sea. The mix of fiction and non-fiction is not a book I have read a lot of before, and I think the mix of genres was quite effective. Also, Seb ends up over coming his fears at last.

Over the course of the chapters the main character ,Seb the teacher is slowly learning to overcome his fears of sharks and is slowly become more courageous and less like his wimpy old self. I like the fact that I could really see the changes of Seb as he becomes braver. Now I wonder if he might truly overcome his fear by entering the water with a great white.

This book is quite interesting because it is a mixture between a fictional story line yet non-fiction facts and diagrams are included. Also I'm curious about the character because he is a school teacher who is cowardly, shy, and very fearful yet he was chosen to go on a trip in Australia to swim with sharks! I find this ironic(situational irony) and I definitely what to see how things will work out.
