I’m not sure why I keep reading this author’s books. I enjoyed “The Magpie Murders,” but this is not that. It’s not bad mind you. Just not as good as I’d hoped.

I switched to audio and for some reason am enjoying the book much more.

I was engaged with the first book in this series early on but am struggling to get into this second book.

I usually finish the books I start, but this just wasn’t holding my interest in print or audio. The female narrator sounds the same no matter the character she’s voicing, and something about the story just feels forced. I’m not even intrigued enough to find out whodunit.
