Reading this book right after homegoing is so interesting bc they mirror each other in their narrative of generational trauma, navigating double consciousness, and coping with the damage America’s hunger for power has done to your culture’s collective psyche and while it’s framed by two completely different cultures the impact is so similar wow we really are in the bad place

I enjoy Cyrus’ character so much. There’s a part of me that lives vicariously through his soul-fulfilling goals, aimlessness, and lack of career-driven pressure. Unfortunately the anchor of my Americanization is a deep attachment to stability and productivity but there’s an au version of me who would be very attracted to this man if he were real and I had more faith in the journey over the destination

I think I’m gonna like this book a lot

There’s defo gonna be a sequel

My heart is palpitating idk if I’m ready for this ending

Ok I see the appeal but the footnotes are gripping me more than the story. I am locked into staxxx and thurwar’s trajectory tho

I’d be really into this if it was just the concept and structure of the chain gang all stars told actively through staxxx, thurwar, and sunsets relationship I wish the book would stop introducing and focusing on all these randos

I need this to heat up soon

The story is good but I don’t understand yet why so many people love this book so much. The writing isn’t very compelling to me I don’t feel attached to any of these characters.

Read the part ab the little girl perming her hair for her birthday and then came home to my mom perming her hair for her birthday and I’m being a baby about it
